Role synopsis
 
Wells Platform Analyst is created to support Wells organisation in cost reporting and performance management of its drilling activities. Platform Analyst will work closely with Wells Operations team on different cost management issues, preparation of forecasts, review of actuals reports with variance analyses, verification of invoices and preparation of monthly accruals. The Platform Analyst will also support AFE and Well Reconciliation Finance analyst in preparation of wells AFEs (Authority for Expenditure) and analysis of actuals vs. the planned spend, will address requests from external and internal auditors and JV accounting and Group Accounts teams. 
 
Key accountabilities
 
DDGG (Dada Gorgud) Rig Wells cost tracking
 
• Daily real-time cost tracking for DDGG Rig Wells CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) activities by using the web-based CTX (Cost tracking ) database and technical & logistics reports, 
• Maintenance of an auditable trail of all movements within CTX, and ensure that all standard data in pre agreed categories reflect actual usage, 
• Responsibility for cost saving and cost avoidance issues on a day to day basis.
 
Monthly actuals reporting in SAP and presentation of BRO MI (Budget Responsibility Officer Management Information) 
 
• Monthly run of Value of Work Done (VOWD) information from CTX and perform checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of the information, 
• Responsibility for invoices verification, their adjustment/reconciliation vs. VOWD/CTX data and proper allocation by GLs and cost centers, 
• Monthly reviews and reconciliations of inventory issues/returns on ongoing wells, liaison with Inventory Lead on outstanding issues, 
• Preparation of monthly accruals for DDGG Wells spend, including ageing analysis & releases explanation, 
• Regular analysis and challenge of Payroll & Overhead allocations to rig activities, 
• Lead bi-weekly reviews/presentation of MI reports to BRO (Budget Responsible Officer) covering monthly actuals results as well as AFE/GFO vs. actuals variance analysis.
 
Planning & budgeting for DDGG Wells CAPEX spend 
 
• Review of GFO (Group Financial Outlook ) Drilling Schedule for any major activities & cost changes drivers, 
• Preparation of AFE latest update to fit drilling schedule, 
• Reporting of all accumulated savings and over-under accruals information as part of GFO forecast, 
• Chair BRO/Drilling Engineers reviews of GFO forecast for DDGG Wells 
• Data load to MiDAS (Management Information Database for Analysis Services) 
 
Essential Education
 
University degree in Finance or any other relevant field.
 
 
Essential experience and job requirements
 
Minimum 3 years working experience in cost management and accounting 
 
Other essential skills and knowledge
 
• Good communication and network building skills; 
• Good numerical and analytical skills; 
• Strong Excel skills. 
 
Desirable criteria & qualifications
 
• Awareness of Drilling activities & specifics is preferable. 
• Prior relevant exposure to finance processes (invoicing, timewriting, accruals, etc.); 
• Good understanding of cost reporting & performance management fundamentals; 
• Ability to communicate essential MI to non-financial people; 
• Ability to work under tight timeliness and deliver assigned tasks independently, timely and accurately.
